Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) is an independent government institution under the Ministry of Industries and Production. SMEDA was founded in October 1998 with the objective of supporting and assisting the development and growth of the country’s small and medium-sized businesses.

SMEDA is not only the government of Pakistan’s SME policy advisory body, but it also assists other institutional partners in addressing their SME development agendas.

The mandate of SMEDAN as outlined in the enabling Act is as follows:

• Stimulating, monitoring, and organizing the development of the MSMEs sub-sector; • Initiating and articulating policy ideas for the growth and development of small and medium-sized enterprises;
• Promoting and supporting development programs, instruments, and support programs to accelerate MSME development and modernization;
• Leading the way in rural industrial growth, poverty reduction, job creation, and improved livelihoods;
• Connecting MSMEs to internal and external financing sources, appropriate technology, technical skills, and large enterprises;
• promoting and facilitating access to industry and infrastructure such as layouts, incubators, and industrial parks
• Mediating between MSMEs and the government [SMEDAN is the MSMEs’ voice];
• Collaborating with other public and private sector institutions to create a good enabling business environment in summary, and MSME activities in particular.

General Requirements for SMEDAN Recruitment

• Interested candidates must be Nigerian citizens.
• Applicants must be physically and mentally fit and willing to work in a new environment.
• A minimum of five credits in the West African Senior School Certificate (WASSCE), National Examination Council (NECO), and General Certificate of Education must be obtained in no more than two sittings (GCE).B.Sc., HND, NCE, or OND certificate from a recognized institution
• Applicants for the SMEDAN recruitment must be under the age of 35.
• All candidates must have a valid form of identification, such as a driver’s license, National Identification Card (NIN Number), international passport, or voter card.
• Computer literacy is advantageous.
