This act has enabled NNPC Limited is no longer a government agency under the ministry of petroleum as it was before but it is now a commercially viable company and it can pursue different interests in the oil and gas sector both in Nigeria and globally.
The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation NNPC Limited provides services in the upstream, downstream, gas and power, new energy, and non-energy sectors. Its formation has made it the biggest oil and gas company in Africa in revenue.

- Applicants should have WASSCE, NECO, or GCE certificate with credits in at least five subjects in not more than two sittings
- Applicants should be able to work in a team
- Applicants applying as graduate trainees should not be more than 30 years old
- Applicants should have at least 6 years of work experience (for those who are not applying as graduate trainees or entry-level Staff)
- Applicants should have an NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter
