Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) is a company that produces liquefied natural gas (LNG) and operates a liquefied gas plant on Bonny Island, Nigeria.
BRIEF HISTORY
On May 17, 1989, Nigeria LNG Limited was formed as a limited liability company to produce LNG and natural gas liquids (NGL) for export. The TSKJ consortium, led by former Halliburton subsidiary KBR, built the plant. Snamprogetti, Technip, and JGC Corporation were also members of the consortium. The first train began service in 1999.
The Bonny plant began production in September 1999, with the first shipment expected in October. BOTA for 1.2 billion cubic meters per year, and Gaz de France for 500 million cubic meters per year. Shell, Elf Aquitaine, and Agip supplied the feed gas.
