ABOUT
NIFOR (The Nigeria Institute of Oil Palm Research) is a research facility dedicated to the genetic modification or genetic manipulation, production, and processing of oil palm, Raphia, date, coconut, Shea, and ornamental palms.
The Nigeria Institute for Oil Palm Research (NIFOR) was founded in 1939, following a series of West African agricultural conferences organized by the then-Colonial Department of Agriculture in 1927, 1930, and 1938.
A decision was made that crop research should be regionalized and carried out in the appropriate territory. The West African Research Organization was founded in 1950 and spanned the entire west coast of Africa.
GENERAL REQUIREMENT FOR NIFOR RECRUITMENT
Applicants for the NIFOR must have one or more of the following qualifications:
- Applicant must possess any of these certificates: A B.Sc, HND, NCE, or OND from a recognized institution is required for the applied position. Any additional certificate, whether postgraduate or professional certification, will be beneficial.
- A certificate of Discharge/Exemption from NYSC is also needed
- West African School Certificate (WAEC) with Credits in at least three (3) subjects, including English, and passes in at least two (2) others.
- A National Diploma (ND) or National Certificate of Education (NCE) from an accredited institution.
