ABOUT
The Federal Ministry of Science and Technology is a Nigerian ministry whose task is to facilitate the creation and deployment of science and technology apparatus in order to accelerate the country’s socioeconomic development by incorporating appropriate technological inputs into productive activities.
It is led by a Minister appointed by the President, who is assisted by a career civil servant serving as the Permanent Secretary. On November 11, 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR swore in Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu as Minister of Science and Technology, with Dr. (Mrs) Amina Muhammed Bello Shamaki as permanent secretary in the ministry.
GENERAL REQUIREMENT FOR FMST RECRUITMENT
Applicants for the FMST must have one or more of the following qualifications:
- Applicant must possess any of these certificates: A B.Sc, HND, NCE, or OND from a recognized institution is required for the applied position. Any additional certificate, whether postgraduate or professional certification, will be beneficial.
- A certificate of Discharge/Exemption from NYSC is also needed West African School Certificate (WAEC) with Credits in at least three (3) subjects, including English, and passes in at least two (2) others.
- A National Diploma (ND) or National Certificate of Education (NCE) from an accredited institution.
