The Budget Office of the Federal was created to provide budget functions and to implement the Federal Government of Nigeria’s budget and fiscal policies.

The Budget Office is divided into six departments, six of which are operational and seven of which are administrative. Revenue/Fiscal Policy, Expenditure Social, Expenditure Economics, Budget Monitoring and Evaluation, Human Resources Management, Finance, and Accounts are the departments.

Mrs. (Dr.) Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning explained that following the Presidential Assent of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA 2021), the macroeconomic assumptions and oil revenues were updated, necessitating an upward review of the Budget size to accommodate critical spending required in 2022.

Surprisingly, the 2022 FGN Budget Proposal was laid on October 7, 2021. This demonstrates the Buhari Administration’s determination to return the country to a January-December fiscal cycle.

The ‘Economic Growth & Sustainability’ FGN 2022 Budget is expected to reposition the Nigerian economy on the path of growth and resilience.

ICT, ACTu, Procurement, Legal, Stock Verification, Internal Audit, and Servicom are the units.

This entails estimating revenue based on current data on oil production and prices. It also entails estimating non-oil receipts and creating a macroeconomic framework.

General Requirement for BOF Recruitment 

Applicants for the BOF must have one or more of the following qualifications:

1. Applicant must possess any of these certificates: A B.Sc, HND, NCE, or OND from a recognized institution is required for the applied position. Any additional certificate, whether postgraduate or professional certification, will be beneficial.
2. Certificate of Discharge/Exemption from NYSC is also need
3. West African School Certificate (WAEC) with Credits in at least three (3) subjects, including English, and passes in at least two (2) others.
4. A National Diploma (ND) or National Certificate of Education (NCE) from an accredited institution.
